Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions for our Artisans. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Katmandu Trading Company was established in 2002, with a vision to create equitable and sustainable trade opportunities for Nepalese artisans. For almost two decades, we have been working with talented crafts-people to help showcase their talent to a global community. We are committed to providing you with a wide range of clothing, accessories, handicrafts, decor and other items of religious and cultural importance. As we continue to uphold all standards of quality, you'll be supporting an international trade relationship that is, at once, both fair and transparent.
The donated funds will allow our artisans around the world to safely fulfill our purchase orders, notwithstanding the Covid-19 pandemic. In turn, we can offer their amazing hand made goods to you, when you visit our "Brick n' Mortar" store in Eugene, Oregon, or virtually on our site.
From the beginning, Jesse's love affair with Nepalese handicrafts and the people who make them, was more like a 'love at first sight' kind of thing. For those of you who don't know Jesse Schultz, he is the mastermind behind Katmandu Trading Company. When he first started his journey he knew that he had a challenging road ahead, but he didn't budge from his commitment and ideals. It was - and still is - his dream to not only create a thriving business but also to promote fair trade and conscious consumerism. Fast-forward to 2020: Katmandu has developed from a vision and a hope into one of America's largest manufacturers and direct importers of Nepalese handicrafts.
Given the current scenario of uncertainty and economic turmoil, we need your support now more than ever. An invisible enemy, COVID-19, has devastated many lives and continues to do so at alarming rates. At Katmandu, we are working day and night to make sure our partners are doing well and their families are being taken care of. Help us promote the well-being of our artisans and the virtues of fair trade. Only when conscious individuals like you come forward and join hands with us, can we bring about the change we all wish to see in this world.
Because we support families abroad, the biggest risk in this unprecedented time is with the countries themselves dealing with and being productive during the pandemic. Some factories have had to be locked down due to a spike in the number of infected. Others do not take the necessary precautions. That said, our artisans are actively working safely and remotely in order to sustain themselves and their families.
Thank you for joining us on our journey! And remember - Fair Trade Feels Good!
Best Regards, From the families of Katmandu Trading Company.
